The event hosted by Tlou Dinyake celebrated the foundation’s life-changing work by giving back to the community and raising funds for the Ikhayalethu Foundation, which supports the region’s most vulnerable children.

“Mentorship changes lives. Take someone under your wing; it truly can change their life, and it’s something that money cannot buy”, Tlou stated encouraging people to go into communities and take someone under their wing.

She further emphasized that many children in society are not cared for and that it is her belief that any child should be able to walk up to any adult and say he/she is hungry and it is an adult’s responsibility to give them food.

According to a representative from the foundation, Farook Lawal, the Ikhayalethu Foundation’s goal is to help children and youth reach their full potential. They provide care, support, and education while working toward bringing about sustainable social reform.” The mission of the Ikhayalethu Foundation is to take kids off the streets and help them develop their talents. The foundation has started a football club and also recently built a computer school and studio,” said Lawal.

Member of Parliament and National Council Representative, Nicola du Plessis, shared that after 30 years, only 1.2% of disabled people have found a place in society. She praised this progress as a significant achievement and stressed the importance of using funds to improve people’s lives. Du Plessis also encouraged everyone to share their gifts and look out for the vulnerable.

The Air Force Band concluded the beautiful evening with live music, bringing the night to a delightful close.
